Ah, the wonderful villain from Final Fantasy VI. Those of you who are familiar with the incredibly crazy evil person that is Kefka, and the final boss fight that occurs with him in the game will undoubtedly recognise this image as being the final form he takes on. I haven't really made any specific changes from the original - I've merely painted a picture of the image from the game. The pixel art for the original game is amazing, and I thought it would make a really nice painting, so I decided to try it.
There were one of two really tricky things about this. As the original picture is quite small, it's difficult to make out all the details. The face in particular was interesting. Oh, and then the background took forever to do. When working in very close detail on the clouds and beams of light, it was sometimes really tricky to see what I was actually painting until I zoomed out to see what it looked like.
I didn't blend off any of the brush strokes so I suppose you're right - it does look kindof pixelarty ^^
Truth be told I did actually play through almost the entire game. Don't think I quite completed it though. I remember seeing the ending though, so I must have seen that one way or another.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
